ArchieV
So we recently purchased a 2016 Edge SEL. I'm noticing the backup camera is quite (pardon my French) shit. Especially in comparison to the one on my 2014 Escape. In good day light conditions its perfectly fine however in very low light or blackout conditions it's almost like a dark blueish blurry tint and can barely see anything. Similar to a fog. The lens is completely clear and has not scratches or scuffs. Any ideas?
WingNut
I noticed on my 2015 that backing up in reverse at night is not great. I do notice if I kill my lights while backing up, it adjusts and looks a lot clearer. Give it a try.
normkol
I'm very happy with the b/u camera in my 2016 SEL. My wife, who has a 2016 Odyssey, is jealous of the Ford camera. Even in nighttime, the view is quite good.
112235
The problem is that with headlights on, the display goes to auto dim which makes the backup camera almost useless. I turn off headlights when backing at night. You can program auto dim off, but that's a pain in the rear. Seems like Ford could update so auto dim is deactivated when in reverse.
