PrinzII
I am in need of both headlight assemblies for my Edge because one got nailed with a stone and broke and the other is severely hazy due to the AZ sun. If anyone has a set, PM me ASAP.
enigma-2
The one that took a rock, you could claim it under your auto comprehension policy.
PrinzII
I could check into that. Hopefully, the $1000 deductible doesn't come into play.
PaulSchott
Comprehensive usually doesn't have the same deductible as collision insurance. I hit a deer and was surprised that I only had to pay $25 for the repair. Call your insurance co. and see what the story is. They will also include the installation charge at a garage. This could be quite a lot considering that removal of the front bumper is required to do the replacement. It may cover the cost of both headlights. E bay usually has used lights for sale. I saw a bunch in the $120 range.
enigma-2
I went Chinese replacement headlamp off Ebay on my wife's convertible and it works perfectly. Been a year and no hazing. Fit perfectly.
PaulSchott
I did the Chinese replacement route on a Ford Contour. I sold it to a guy in work and the only thing that still looks good are the headlights. It's not good to sell a car where you will see it after you sell it. Here is what it looked like when I had it. PrinzII
I spoke with my agent and the only way they are getting covered is if they are cracked or broken.
Popadopolis
So the one that took a rock is covered and you'd have to pay for the other. That's two for the price of one right? BOGO. I wouldn't trust any ebay set because they might be old sun hazed housings cleaned up with one of those cleaning kits that are out. Just my opinion. PrinzII
I think one took a rock to the side and one took a rock to the front.
