zrt8355
Just wanted to see if this is normal operation or if I need to check into it. When opening my Vista Roof, I push the open button quickly and let go and it opens fine. However, when closing, I pull the button and quickly let go, and the glass closes almost the whole way except maybe 1ft? And from there, it will only close if I pull the button and hold it until it is closed. If I let go it stops right then. I just figured "express close" means you pull it once, let go, and it should completely shut on its own. At least my previous cars were like this, which is why I wonder why this one acts this way. But it stops at the exact same spot every single time. For what it's worth, I have performed the initialization process successfully about 2 or 3 times now with the same results. tamugrad2013
I have a 2012 and that is the normal operation. I am not sure of Gen 2 2015-Present.
enigma-2
I have a 2009 MKX and that's normal operation (make certain that the kids don't have their fingers in the opening when closing.) You w also notice that the interior shade also stops short when closing. Again, normal. Drove a 2016 Edge loaner a couple of days last week and the roof closed all the way with a single press. Don't know which years the changeover occured however. Edited June 20, 2017 by enigma-

TheWizard
Oddly enough, the roof function is described in the owner's manual:

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Personally, I am much more fond of the electronic manuals Ford has online, so much easier to search. The paper manuals are also worth their weight in gold, when you are just reading through, with no particular objective in mind. Old school, LOL. http://www.fleet.ford.com/partsandservice/owner-manuals/
