Intermediate Shaft Seal Replacement at 9000 miles

So I have a new to me 2014 Edge SEL fwd. It had under 8500 miles on it when I got it. It was part of an estate. The olm was telling me to change the oil and I was good with that as I wanted to go all synthetic in it anyhow. It was basically because it had been 18 months since an oil change but only about 1500 miles. No problem. I slide under it and I notice right away there was a small slotted screw that had a drip of fluid on it and some back on the under body. I was perplexed about what it was as I didn't see any drips on the garage floor and it had been with me about a week. So fast forward to today and I had an appointment to get some keys programmed and I wrote in the request to have that checked as well as I still had about a month left on bumper to bumper. Turns out it was the seal on the right intermediate shaft that was leaking. Looking at the receipt it looks like it was an involved repair with due tests, removing shafts etc. But it only listed 1.2 hours total and that was with a 25 mile road test. (I paid for the gas obviously). I'm not sure if that would have been covered by the powertrain warranty or not. Regardless I'm glad I had it checked out and fixed. So it might also be something for others to keep an eye on.

I think it would be covered under powertrain warranty, but here is the 2014 warranty guide
