rmmpe Posted March 24, 2008 Report Share Posted March 24, 2008 What shows as the miles remaining is based on the average MPG the car is/was getting at the time. The real remaining range depends on how you drive it from that point on. If easy and the car is getting better than what shows as the average, it'll be further. If you drive it hard, it'll be less. radicon Posted March 24, 2008 Report Share Posted March 24, 2008 The lowest that I have run it down to so far is 2 miles remaining. That fill-up took 17.8 gallons. That is the most that I have put in so far. So maybe Akirby is correct that there is one gallon remaining in tank when readout says zero. I went about 20 miles past "O till empty" Crossed my fingers the whol time until I got to a gas station, even then it too about 17 gallons. :wacko: It usually reads about 387 miles until empty at fiilup but one time I squeezed a few more dollars into it after it popped off. At that point, it read 404 miles until empty. Of course, that changes as you drive, calculating less miles to go. . . . . The gas nozzle ALWAYS pops off too early and take a few more dollars.
