1004ron
My 2 month old Sport has a ding in the passenger door and I've seen a few DIY methods in a Google search and I'm considering a professional service to remove the ding. Does anyone have experience with the DIY or professional service? - should I try one of the DIY methods and if that doesn't do it take it to a pro? fishx65
Some of those paintless ding repair guys do amazing work and most insurance companies are happy to wave deductibles if you go the paintless route. The guy I use charges $40.00 to $60.00 per ding.
MJB3
I too have used a professional to remove some major damage to a roof that experienced a fight with a closing garage door.It is amazing what they can do.
1004ron
Thanks for the responses - I think I wont take the risk of making it worse with a DIY attempt and rather take it to a local shop.
David Young
Pay the people who do this for a living. They have all the tools needed and know how to use them. I had a door ding fixed on another car (not our Edge) and you couldn't tell where it was. Best $60 dollars I've ever spent
1004ron
I had mine done for $65 and very happy with the results. Having seen how its done, I'll not be trying the YouTube DIY methods.
evh
To support what everyone else is sharing, I paid $50 a dent for 5 dents in a Ford Fusion. You could not tell where any of them were when he was done. He came to my parking lot and did it while I was at work. He was also contracted by a very large Ford dealer in my area to do all of their cars that needed it. Edited June 16, 2017 by evh
