enigma-2
FordTechMakuloco just released a new video walk through on the procedure for changing spark plugs on the Gen 2 engines. Covers evey detail, every connector, every bolt and hose. Very, very detailed. Offers several tips as well, such as the correct procedure to blow out the cylinder to remove dust and dirt from threads, etc. Also has a complete list of tools and products used. (Ford master mechanic).
chefduane
Nice find! I've seen some vids by Makuloco and he's spot on with tools and technique. Thanks!
ipla68
Just a thought that had me a little confused... do you really want to be blowing compressed air into the combustion chamber, with no plug? So any of the rust, debris, etc. is going into the chamber, cylinder walls have oil on them, rust particles sticking to cylinder wall? enigma-2
If your talking about the blowout around 13 minutes, notice he's putting the air tube all the way into the cylinder and then blowing it out. The air and any debris is being ejected out of the cylinder, not into it. Also notice that he did a blowout around 10 minutes while the plug was still in. I don't see any appreciable dirt being added into the cylinder after he removed the plug.
tommy salcedo
Thanks for posting. Doing this to my 2011 Edge tomorrow and this video's production quality is by far the best I've seen.
macbwt
That is not a video on a Ford Edge there are several steps you do not need to do like a coolant line.
