ben senise
i just noticed a cool feature that i hadn't noticed before on my 2016 Titanium. I had manually raised the fan speed to the upper range (i usually do this after running the AC to blow out moisture so it doesn't get that funky mildew smell after sitting in the garage) and a few seconds later i started making a call through Sync. The system lowered the fan speed when I made the call and raised it again after I hung up. I would assume that it would do the same thing when receiving a call. I thought that was very useful.
akirby
I had heard of that feature but never experienced it on our MKX. Pretty cool.
enigma-2
On my 2016 MKX loaner the I noticed the fan & radio turn down when the phone rang and turned itself back up when I hung up. Edited May 31, 2017 by enigma-2
akirby
That's the one thing I didn't like when I was working at the office. Calling home right after leaving work I'd have to manually lower the fan speed (or raise the temperature) in the summer so I could hear the phone. Now I just turn off the laptop and walk upstairs.
chefduane
I have noticed that the radio lowers when I make or take a call but have not noticed the fan changing. Its starting to get hot here in Texas and that sound like a cool feature (heh heh). I have to check that out.
tamugrad2013
I am pretty sure this is on only newer fords, because my 2012 does not do this, but I did notice this in the 2017 F-150 Loaner truck I have. It amazed me even more that this truck didn't have automatic climate control, but the fan speed knob is essentially electronic because when you twist it lights show how high/low the fan speed is on. omar302
As nice as that feature is, in our climate, when it is 120F, it will make me End the call ASAP. Good to prevent distracted driving.
chefduane
Just to confirm; my '11 Limited mutes the sound system when making a call but DOES NOT lower the fan speed. Would be a nice feature tho. I guess I can't complain much - we do get some 100F+ days here in Texas although our average yearly temp is about 77F. The average summer temp in Qatar is 106F with some spikes up to 122F. (Source: USA Today Weather) Yikes!!!
Burrcold
Definitely a great feature! I thought something was wrong with my AC the first time it happened, until I did a bit of reading on the feature.
