jonesboys310
I have an issue with the reverse aid sensors in my 2011 edge with my ford touch. I've searched and not really found an answer, every time I back up i have a sensor on left rear that goes off without anything behind it, no obstructions, or debris on sensors. The distance light lights up green on the far left quadrant only and never increases sound or color, but alarm goes off almost every time. It was doing it last fall, then over winter it didn't do it hardly ever and now it's warm, it's back! Is it a drifted sensor or?? Kinda lost, also the local dealer said it was about $160 for ONE sensor, is that correct???
enigma-2
Are any of the sensor's dirty or have any kind of oil or grease coating covering them? Any misaligned or loose? Corrosion in any of the connectors? I dont know about OEM, but your can buy aftermarket (Dorman) for about $25 and they're easy enough to replace. http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/DC/96723-05591582.html?utm_content=DN&utm_term=2011-2015+Ford+Edge+Parking+Distance+Sensor+Dorman+Rear+11-15+Ford+Parking+Distance+Sensor+2012+2014&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ff&utm_campaign=PartsGeek+Google+Base&gclid=CjwKEAjw9MrIBRCr2LPek5-h8U0SJAD3jfhtQ3dnYKg6zDBxvwCvalZ7Xi29TcNHJ0imy5tQ3AmdVBoCCM7w_wcB&ad=47584901292 Edited May 10, 2017 by enigma-2
jonesboys310
Ya I just called dealer and with my discount from the company I work for, one so how sensor is still $143 haha, I do not see any grease, dirt, or corrosion. I think I will follow your advise and pick up a Dorman and just replace it.
omar302
Did you try disconnecting it & clean the connectors? Try switching between 2 sensors to make sure it is really a bad sensor.
Limey57
I have a problem with the "parking aid". As soon as I reverse, the warning light comes on. Sometimes you can hit reset and it goes away, most times it doesn't. And sometimes when you pull up and stop, if you get a little roll back, it comes on again - really irritating. Any clues? enigma-2
Pull each sensor connector and check for corrosion.
