DaThrill
Hello fellow Ford drivers! I come to you with dismay and hopefully someone can help out. My sister recently purchased a 2016 Ford Edge. It has under 30.000 miles on it and she is getting a rotten egg smell when she accelerates usually past 60. Sometimes she gets the smell just driving in town. She has taken it to the dealer 4 times and they cannot explain why she is getting this smell. It is so strong and horrible that people have gotten sick at her church who were talking to her outside. The dealership told her they can do nothing further for her because they do not know what the problem is, but they even smell it but act like we are crazy for wanting it resolved. Also, when we drive down a gravel road, dirt gets inside the cab in the back as well as water when it rains. Can someone please help us with these issues?? omar302
My advise is to forget that dealer & go to another one.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Bad fuel, clogged cats, blocked rear vent flaps (behind bumper) are at a minimum things that will need looked at. Do you have a sunroof/moonroof? I would look closely at the drains therein, as well as the seals around the doors.

The dealership was supposed to replace all the strips around the doors but I can just take and brush my hand across them and they come out they pull off so the ceiling it's not very good at all but it's got brand-new they said it's because whoever owned it before must have detailed it a lot Edited May 3, 2017 by DaThrill
DaThrill
They are acting like smell is normal and cannot explàin why its producing smell. Its under warranty still and we want it fixed and prevent future troubles. I saw something about the Explorer similar smell. Could it be that? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Could be, the design is similar. But the catalytic converters have occasionally been an issue on Gen 2, is why I mentioned that.
