Clsalgado4
I have a 2007 Ford edge that is having multiple simultaneous problems. The first problem is that the traction control light comes off and on throughout the day. Now to the point where my vehicle will no longer shift out of park for long periods of time. We wait 30 minutes or so and try again and the car will come out of park. The second issue is that when accelerating from a stop or going around a corner and also going up inclines my car will shutter or chatter. It does not have an issue accelerating or shifting but there is a vibration sensation in the wheel and in the seat of the vehicle. What could these issues possibly be? I've done a little bit of research and it doesn't sound like it is my transmission completely but I have heard that transmission is a common problem in this year vehicle. I really appreciate any feedback that anybody has
akirby
Traction control is probably either a wheel sensor, tone ring or wiring and unrelated to the shudder (not shutter - shutters go on windows). On the other issue I would check out the front axle shafts, boots, cv joints, etc.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Do the rpms fluctuate but the engine seems unaffected? could be torque converter. AWD? Shudder/chatter on inclines can be a PTU.
Clsalgado4
@www no, no issues with rev/speeding up. We called the dealership and they said the shifting issue could be just a parking sensor. They had a specific name for it that I can't remember off the top of my head
