Shhlogan
Did a quick search and couldn't find anything, so here goes. I changed out my brakes and one rotor today. When taking the rear caliper bracket off to change the rotor, I had to break the two bolts counter clockwise like usual, but had to remove them by turning them clockwise. Okay, I thought, whatever. Installed the new rotor and went to reinstall the bolts, but they refused to thread back in. I assumed the bolts may need to be replaced. Quick trip out to grab 2 new bracket bolts and the bottom one threaded in fine, but the top bolt went all the way in, got semi tight, and loosened back up. So obviously there is shaking in the caliper if I attemp to drive it. So what are my options here? Thread locker, new bracket? I have no idea. lildisco
Your bracket probably needs to be replaced. If you haven't already done so, they probably are really dirty & need to be cleaned. Try taking a small brush & see if there's any rust/dirt in there. If they look clean, you're definitely going to need a new caliper bracket. My mom's 2012 fusion had to have 1 replaced last year & was only $40 or so. Sounds like you stripped the threads out on the bracket to be honest
macbwt
Stripped it out. Get a new bracket and bolts. Then on your way. The lefty loosey Righty Tighty get confusing sometimes. Guilty on this my self on occasions.
PaulSchott
It depends on which side of the caliper your standing or if your in the southern hemisphere LOL.
