akirby
As long as you aren't used to the off the line torque of the EB engines you won't miss it.
IWRBB
Only downside that I know of with the 3.5L is the waterpump inside the timing cover. If it starts to leak, you can trash the main bearings. Otherwise, it should run forever. Edited March 16, 2017 by IWRBB
enigma-2
Hello everyone. Just got a 2016 edge SEL I believe. (be gentle)Couple ways to tell: SEL has the backup alarm when you backup and there's an object behind you. SE doesn't.SE exterior mirror caps are black, SEL mirror caps are color matched. He told me it was related to not getting the coolant changed. Apparently Ford (Lincoln) has changed to a different coolant just to prevent failures. Has to do with old fluid causing corrosion. Service was adamant about getting me to change coolant to new type.
IWRBB
Getting the coolant flushed in our 2010 is on my short list. What type did they put in it? I typically run the gold stuff in everything, but I think the Edge came with green.
PaulSchott
Just went through the water pump thing. Total bill after all the other bits, chains, coolant, oil, and gaskets was $1919.84. I was lucky and caught it before it got into the oil. I saw a few drops of coolant on the ground and had it done immediately. This happened at 114,000 miles. The coolant was the gold color and now is the green. If I knew I could avoid the water pump I would have added the green food coloring earlier LOL. Good luck with your Edge. The water pump was the first major repair in 114,000 miles. This is a really nice vehicle.

Coming from a VW past I'm use to major repairs lol Can confirm, my brother is a service writer for a VW/Mini/BMW dealer. VWs are junk. BMW and Minis are just as bad, but at least they drive nice.
