If I have a code on my 2008 edge 3.5L It's p0019 and I looked up and it's bank 1 cam/crank shaft position sensor. But they told me at autozone there's 4 sensors. Are you seeing symptoms or just a code, and under what conditions? Actually a wide variety of reasons for this possibly. Causes Causes may include: Timing chain stretched, or timing belt skipped a tooth due to wear Misalignment of timing belt/chain Tone ring on crankshaft slipped/broken Tone ring on camshaft slipped/broken Bad crank sensor Bad cam sensor Damaged wiring to crank/cam sensor Timing belt/chain tensioner damaged An improperly torqued crankshaft balancer A mis-built or mis-timed engine A loose or missing crankshaft balancer bolt The CMP actuator solenoid stuck open The CMP actuator stuck in a position other than 0 degrees Read more at: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0019Copyright OBD-Codes.com Also, AFAIK, there is 1 camshaft position sensor (CPS) per bank, 1 crankshaft position sensor (CKS) for the entire engine, and 1 VCT solenoid per bank. VCT solenoid failure, timing chain stretch, and the occasional CKS failure are known to happen. If the timing chain needs R&R, change the water pump also as it is driven by the timing chain. You can try unplugging the VCT solenoid on bank 1 with the neg batt cable disconnected for 15-30 minutes, then plugging it back in. Let the vehicle relearn. Same with the CPS on Bank 1. The VCT solenoid is on the top of the left side of the valve cover, the CPS to the right of the valve cover. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Alexxbaconator Posted March 4, 2017 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2017 Only symptoms I can see, Takes like 2 seconds longer to start when cold, And it shakes a bit more on idle. Nothing serious but the check engine light is on. I want to check the cam sensors, I've seen online that I can checking the resistance on the sensor. Do you know the resistance on the sensors?
