aju
I bought a used 2015 SEL with 3.5 V6 in September. I noticed shortly afterwards that the cargo light (rear luggage area) didn't work. The owner's manual said that this was a non-owner serviceable bulb (it's an LED, apparently) so I noted it as something to talk to the dealer about when I had some other warranty items addressed. I had the work done recently, and was told that this vehicle didn't come equipped with that light - it is dome light only. Can that be correct? It has a lens that certainly looks like a light. gary255
I have a 2016 SEL and the cargo light works. I can't imagine a lens with no light. Maybe the switch that triggers the light isn't functioning. Maybe a fuse.
enigma-2
You could consider replacing it. Here's a link where someone divided his wasn't bright enough and changed to a brighter LED display. https://www.google.com/amp/www.fordescape.org/forum/diy-garage/8386-led-cargo-light.html%3famp=1 Here's a link to repair a cargo lamp http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/2013-2016-Ford-Escape-Cargo-Area-Light-Bulb-Replacement-Guide/ Edited February 28, 2017 by enigma-
aju
Turns out that the light was simply disconnected. Plugged it in and it works fine.
enigma-2
Begs the question as to 'why' was it disconnected in the first place. Sounds as if someone had the cargo side panel off for some reason.
