PaulSchott
I just did this conversion on my 2007 and found an improvement in lighting. Nothing dramatic but after driving to work in the wee small hours there is a definite improvement. 55 Watts to 65 Watts. I think the change doesn't cause a glare problem for oncoming cars because the edge has covers over the bulb to prevent it. (Nobody has flashed me yet.) The aiming of the lights has remained the same and the cutoff is the same. If you do this you need to modify the bulb with a dermal to modify the lugs and a clipper to remove one of the plastic tabs in the plug. There are plenty of write-ups on you tube.

Nick Halstead
I've done this to my fusion, lows and fogs, just used a box cutter and a pair of snips.https://www.hidplanet.com/forums/forum/general-discussion/halogens/1409801-ryan-s-guide-to-halogen-bulbs
fishx65
Did this years ago when I had the 2010 SEL. It really is a pretty big improvement. I actually miss driving behind a nice bright set of halogen reflectors.
doji_nj
Did this tweak when I first got the Edge. Been this way 5 years, and have much better night driving experience than going HID.
enigma-2
For you fellas that have had this mod for a year or more, have you noticed aNY crazing or burning of the reflective material or premature glazing on the clear cover? Has anyone checked the sockets for burning?
PaulSchott
If you do this you can get Phillips bulbs in OEM packaging for less than $16 for a pair and free shipping on EBay.
