Xin Yang
Hi everyone, I am new to this buying car thing, every time I walk into a dealership and felt like I was gonna get eaten alive and I am not exactly sure what to do or say to the salesman who constantly offers me coffee and tells me that the price they come up with is the lowest price they can do. I have a 2 part question: 1. is 36208 OTD fair for a 2016 Edge with Tech Pack, utility pack, weather pack and Panaroma roof? 2. Tips for dealing with these car salesman. what to do and how to get a fair and honest price from them? Thank you very much.
akirby
I gave some advice in the other topic, but we need more info. Who is the dealer and what is the zip code? Which model Edge (SEL, Titanium, etc.)? What color (some have extra charges)? If you're looking at a specific vehicle what is the last 4 digits of the VIN number? You can look up the vehicles online at ford.com to find the one you like, then we can give you the exact price range you should expect. Xin Yang
Sorry I didn't supply enough info, Ford Edge SEL, Shadow Black, Ebony Leather trimmed, here is the VIN #: 2FMPK4J81GBC64465 This is the link of the car I was negotiating, http://davesmithford.net/Buffalo-NY/For-Sale/New/Ford/Edge/2016-SEL-Black-SUV/49942792/
akirby
X plan is $39,118. Minus $4250 incentives accordingly to the dealer website puts you at $34,868. 7% tax puts you at $37,309. $36,208 out the door is a very good price for that vehicle assuming no trade-in. Xin Yang
They gave be a total of 8k in rebates though, at least thats what it says on the written offer they gave me, I did some of the math myself and it came up to about around 34k which can only mean that I made a mistake on my part. akirby
Can you post a picture of that written offer? If it actually says $8K in factory rebates then I call Shenanigans.
Xin Yang
Sorry if i didn't make it clear but it has like savings, less rebates and another rebate on it.
Xin Yang
I think he did the package saving wrong, its suppose to be 1100 and not 2200
Xin Yang
I have no trade-in, and now Ford has just came out with their year end 500 off, so I am curious if that applies too?
akirby
So they're charging $38,123 before tax and rebates and that's below invoice. Looks like there is an extra $1k in rebates too. That looks like a great price if they don't try to add anything other than licensing. Pretty sure that $5250 includes the extra $500 already. Xin Yang
this price was given to be before the 500 year end sales, which only came to the website about 2 days ago when i checked.
Xin Yang
Is it too much to ask for 34k OTD?
WingNut
Is it too much to ask for 34k OTD? That would be a pretty darn good price. Probably in the ball park of A/Z Plan pricing. All they can say is no and may get them to come down a bit more. But like others have said here, looks like what they have offered already is good.
