Alex Bordeleau
Hey everyone, i own a Mazda CX9 which has the same problem you guys are experiencing with your Edge. I would like to know if someone here found a solution to this, my problem is the gearing in the transmission chewed up due to problably the PTU being too stiiff with that oil transformed into grease. Even if i buy a new PTU, it won't be of any use since the transmission splines are dead and Mazda won't sell just the differential inside the transmission, i have to change the whole transmission... which probably cost more than what my truck is worth. Anyone found a machine shop that can rebuild the teeth? Is this even a problem with you Edge transmission or is it only happening on the Mazda side? thanks
omar302
I don't recall this issue ever come up. I also believe that the CX9 has a different transmission (Aisen) not manufactured by Ford.
