Kleber Gomes
Hi, have a Ford Edge 2013 equipped with MFT. Is it possible to import a list of POI (txt)? There's a list with the location of speed traps, usually shared as txt file, that in general can easily be added to GPS maps and that would warn you about speed traps and the speed limit in the road. Has anybody ever tried to import it in MFT? Any recommendation on this?
akirby
No way that I've heard of.
enigma-2
No, the POI database is a proprietary, separate part of the navigation map updates (can be purchased separately.) You could run a separate app on your cellphone or from one of several websites that track such information. Yes, that's correct and there are companies selling POI's database, however in most of the main GPS we usually have ways to import POI (by savings files in specific folders, or with built in importing mechanisms). The list of speed cams and traps I already have ... just need to find a way to upload them in MFT/GPS. BR/Kleber
akirby
POIs are bundled with the map updates so they're not going to allow you to upload new ones for free. You might be able to hack the data files on the sd card if they're not encrypted/protected. Edited November 29, 2016 by akirby
