clongtsn
To prep my 2007 Edge SEL Plus AWD for an extended winter road trip I've had the tires, oil, and battery changed in the last several days. The Quicklane oil change and vehicle check said the alignment was within the factory spec. But at the tire change (Goodyear) and battery change (Sears) both included an alignment check and each failed the rear total toe and recommended an alignment. Should I go with the Quicklane recommendation or not? Thanks for any advice you may have. Chris Mazomanie, WI
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I would get the alignment done.
enigma-2
I always get a 4-wheel alignment when I change tires. Just got new tires and the alignment showed caster was off. Tires were not wearing abnormally but it does track a little better now.
Waldo
If the shops don't calibrate the equipment regularly, it is useless. Best you can do is go with the 2 out of 3, get it done. As an aside, I don't get the "alignment check" but not align. 75% of the work of doing an alignment is setting up the equipment, It probably took them 15 minutes to do the check, would have only taken 5 more to fix the toe.
