FirsttimefordCA
So our backup camera is intermittently blacking out. We can't find any rhyme or reason to the blackouts, the camera screen is black but the "+" sign is still visible in the left corner, the header "please check your surroundings for safety" is still visible as is the car with backup proximity map in the right corner. The backup beeping still works but the screen is black. Of course it didn't occur when we took it to the dealer but it's happening about 50 percent of the time. anyone else having this issue? xK317Hx
Looks like Ford just can't get a simple camera to work. I had a Chinese eBay special on my old Mazda and that think worked for years. It even had excellent night vision.
Burrcold
Happened to me as well once before. I had to restart the car and it worked again. Probably a software glitch with Sync 3 rather than a hardware issue with the camera.
WingNut
On my '11 Mustang the camera stopped working within the first 6 months. Had it replaced and no problems since. Once in a while a defect will pop up. That just happens...not Ford's fault. If you think it is a S/W issue, reset the system to see if that fixes it. If not, take it to a dealer who will swap in a new one.
