jameschump
Hello, we have a 2008 Ford Edge. We have noticed recently that when the transmission shifts up or down that occasionally its doesn't shift very smoothly, almost like it abruptly shifting from on gear to the other. It almost seems like it jerks a little. I do own an AutoEnginuity scan tool that I use for my truck and ran the codes. These are the two codes that I was able to see: P1501 Vehicle Speed sensor out of self test range P1705 trans range circuit not indicating park/neurtral during self test I have done as much reading on these codes as possible and am still not quite sure what these codes are indicating for what part(s) is failing. The vehicle does have about 123,000 miles on it thus far. Any advise on what else to look into or ideas is very appreciated! Thanks James
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
More than likely, based on the reports from this Gen, it is indicating a problem with at least one of the wheel speed sensors (attached to the wheel hub) and the Transmission Range sensor. Hopefully it is just a wheel speed sensor and not the tone ring involved in the P1501 code.
