chefduane
1. Warped rotors? When is the last time you did a brake job? Did they grind the rotors? 2. Have any front end work done recently that might have introduced air into the steering rack? That will cause front end shake felt through the steering wheel. Fortunately, if that is the case there is an easy fix. Do a couple of lock-to-lock figure 8 turns in a parking lot. That gets the air out of the system. Then top off the reservoir. 3. Get underneath and check for anything loose or unattached that might cause a shimmy. That's all I got. Hope you find the problem.

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
How many miles on it? Could be engine/trans mounts. Does it hsppen in every gear or only in D? Edit: Did you get OEM torque mounts or aftermarket? Were all mounts replaced? Edited October 31, 2016 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
08FordEdge94
it just got a new torgue mount , and it only happens in drive , 184,000 miles on it , its in great shape. I found out the other day that when I shut off the climate control system it helps reduce the vibration . i am thinking engine mount possibly , but it only vibrates when in drive gear stoped , when driving down the road its fine. that's what confuses me. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Have the belts been replaced? That's another possible source of vibration. The engine will run a bit rougher when AC is demanded, but should not be so much as to be intrusive. Has the compressor been checked, does it hold the refrigerant, and is refrigerant level correct? Replacing the remaining mounts (engine/trans) might also be the way to go.
08FordEdge94
compressor has not been checked , it holds the refrigerant, I will have to get out and check the level of refrigerant .
08FordEdge94
everything checks out so far , I have noticed that it has to warm up to start the vibration , when its cold its fine , but once it heats up it starts
