only126db
What should I look for? Mechanic today said everything up front is tight and it is all new (couple months old), when I hit little bumps, big bumps any bumps it sounds like a bad strut mount but all seems good.... Does anyone have an idea of where to look to find this noise? Just had a mechanic look at it while replacing a tie rod that went bad, he said everything seemed tight and in new shape (since it is) but obviously he missed the issue.... This bugs me..... Any hidden secret issue spots ??? HELP
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Can you list what parts were used what brands? OEM and Moog are the strut mounts I'd use, for example. MAybe the bump stops are not adjusted properly or are missing. MAybe the control arm bushings or sway bar links are shot.
macbwt
Strut mount failure as a rule is hard to visually identify. If your mechanic did not pull the strut and mount off the vehicle and disassemble it then I am not sure how he can say it is good. What are the miles on the struts and bearing mounts. If over 80-90K then your struts and bearing mounts have failed. Go with the updated OEM motorcraft strut bearings and KYB shocks/struts.
