gjb89
I'm looking for a 12 VDC point I can tap into that is only hot when the car is running. Anyone know of one?
enigma-2
AFAIK all of the power outlets are hot at all times. You would need to rewire the socket to a hot in run circuit or wire in a relay which activates from a hot in run circuit.
redlancer
A few of us have wired radar detectors and dash cams to Delayed Accessory #23 ( http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19282-access-passenger-compartment-fuse-panel/ ) Ā I have my camera wired to that one and seems to work well. Power stays on a bit after the vehicle is turned off, but the power to that fuse does turn off at some point (either timed or when door is opened, can't remember) Ā Of course getting to the fuse panel is an adventure in itself... gjb89
Since my boost gauge is mounted in the lower compartment in front of the shifter I ended up tapping into the light that is built into the compartment. That way when I close the compartment the lighting on the gauge shuts off, also the light will only turn on when the headlights are on. enigma-2
What are you wanting to hook up?
FloridaMatt
It appears that using forscan you could set the power plugs to shut off a second after turning off the car. I'll be trying this myself Monday or Tuesday.
FloridaMatt
I'll confirm that the power point timer can be modified with forscan. Same programming as for fusion and F150. My 12v sockets now power off 1 second after turning off the car and opening the driver's door.
