jmr061
At the end of July I purchased an Electric Spice 2016 Ford Edge Sport 401A with most if not all the additional options. Wanted to compile of list of things I have done to it: Hardware: Draw-Tite 75234 Class 3 Hitch with Trailer Light Wiring Kit AVS Low Profile Vent Visors #894035 AVS Aeroskin Hood Protector #322115 Wheel Lock Kit GR3Z-1A043-A Front Splash Guard Kit FT4Z-16A550-A JDM ASTAR AMBER LED FRONT PARK/TURN SIGNAL Pro-Clip USA Cell Phone Mount Remote Access Kit (Cell Phone control of remote start/lock/unlock) H15 Cree LED DRL Bulb Blackvue DR650S-2CH Dashcam System Software Modification (via IDS/Forscan) Added "Climate" to right side of Instrument Cluster Enabled and added Global CLOSE windows to Vehicle Settings in Instrument Cluster Added Heated Steering Wheel/Heated/Cooled Seat functions to HOME screen on SYNC3 Disabled Hyper-Flash for front turn signal (ie - disabled Lamp Detection Outage) Disabled Double Horn-Honk when leaving running vehicle with IA fob Current Project is to add OEM style Fog Lamps. I have the electronic side of things figured out (converted to a headlamp switch that turns on the fog lamps and enabled the fog lamp function in the instrument cluster) but having a lot of difficulty locating OEM fog lamp mounts. The kits advertised all over that have the fog lamp hole in the bezel don't have a mount for the light itself. I will add some pics when the weather clears up a bit...raining here. Nick Halstead
I clicked, expecting power adders... So I assume your global close now includes back windows?
jmr061
I clicked, expecting power adders... So I assume your global close now includes back windows? I do have a Livernois tune in it. Global windows on the 16 are only the fronts.
Tjm623
How did you do all the software stuff? I purchased a wifi OBD port plug in device and downloaded the Forscan Lite app (costs $5.99). I'm able to see a bunch of the modules but there isn't a way to change any settings, nor did I see things like climate, global close. Etc. Do I have to use my computer instead? To be honest I only had a bit of time today. But I wasn't hopeful with this app.

Tjm623
I was more curious on how to do this with my current tool purchased and either an app or software. Not looking to spend $1500 to change a few menus.
jmr061
As far as using Forscan, its on a computer and you need the extended license. I have a VCM2 so I don't use one of the cheaper adapters. Visit the forscan website and do a bit of research and you likely will find your answers as far as hardware/software that you need. Tjm623
I'll look again haven't seen much besides diagnostics / code clearing and ability to see some data. Was under the impression id be able to edit stuff like you have done. If not guess I'll have to live with it. Can't justify that price tag. Sounds cool though! Seems like I need to use computer and not phone app, and quite possibly either need to modify my tool or buy a different one to access MS-CAN. Sounds like a fun project! Interested to see if I can get this to work Edited August 21, 2016 by Tjm623
Rextang
Can you change the vista roof to perform one touch close? Please. Then I will drive to meet you somewhere so you can change my car too.

omar302
I think what Rextang meant is the one touch close for the last 5-6" of the vista roof/shade where you have to press & hold the close button for them to fully close.
jmr061
Oh I see...still don't think that is possible. That is all within the roof mechanism itself which has no programmable modules.

I have a 15' with a Vista roof and my shade closes 100% from front to rear with a single push of a button, roof closed. Are you trying to leave roof tilted/open and close the shade? My shade goes 100% to 0% from either side, no issues.

So only the glass roof on the 2015+ Edge stops & requires holding the switch to fully close it. On older models, both the shade & roof required holding the close switch for the last few inches of travel.
Rextang
The '15 shade works as expected. My request is for the glass only. What I meant to say is that when the glass is open and I press the close button, the glass only returns about 4 inches and then stops. I must then hold my finger on the close button to make it close all the way, which happens to be for the majority of the distance. The auto portion is comical in that it has no useful purpose. Also, if it is open and I press the tilt button, it should close the glass and pop up in the tilted position. Instead, nothing happens. My wife's Jeep does exactly what one would reasonably expect. 037
common sense, not so common eh. My Acura had no issues with what you are describing
akirby
I just tried the MKX and it closes all the way with one button press whether it's in the normal or fully open position (or tilted). If the Edge stops short it means there is no pinch sensor to stop it from closing if something is in the way. I never use tilt so I didn't test it. akirby
disabled the double honk with fob left in car Double honk with fob left in car or the double honk when you remove the fob from a running vehicle?

akirby
I didn't know it honked if you tried to lock it with the fob inside. I thought it just unlocked. But good to know which one it affects (or both).
Tjm623
I don't believe it will let you. I guess to make sure we are on same page I'll explain a little better. I test I ran was: Vehicle running fob in cup holder. Exited vehicle and shut all the doors. Did not lock vehicle. There was no honk in this situation. The more I think about it I don't even think it honks if you try to lock it with engine off and fob in car. It just won't do it?
akirby
That's what I thought - it just unlocks the car. I think the honk is only when taking the fob out of the running vehicle.
Tjm623
Hmm then let me try that LOL basically I tested a feature that is OEM. Yup that feature they said I had works!
jmr061
The vehicle should never honk when you leave it running with the IA fob in it unless you attempt to lock the door. The double horn honk delete that you are referring to is when you have the IA fob on you and you exit the vehicle with it running and close the door. Its a safety feature but also can be embarrassing to have it happen in a public lot or at 4am in your driveway and you wake up the neighbors etc. That is the first thing I changed when I got the Edge.
