Accessory position, i.e. ignition off, radio on (for a drivein)

We like to go to the drive in. Need to shut off engine, have no interior lights on, but radio playing. We know you can turn off the touch screen using settings, and we figured out you can turn the radio on with the engine off just using the radio power button. but here is the problem, the radio only seems to play for about 10 mins in that mode, then shuts off. Once it shuts off, pressing the power button does not seem to turn it back on. Only way we could figure to turn it back on was to hit the eng start button, which off course turns on the running light, not cool every 10 mins at a drive in. What we want is just the old manual accessory position, you know, battery on, radio, window works, all lights off, and stays that way until we say stop. Thanks

It should stay on longer than 10 minutes. Perhaps your battery is weak.

I don't think it's a weak battery, I think that's how system is set up. I didn't even think about it for a drive in!

 

I literally just read the entire manual Friday (slow day at work). There is definitely a page or two on accessory mode / a time limit that it runs. I'd check glossary and see if u can find it.

The time the radio stays on with a press of the power button is a programmable setting that can only be accessed with equipment that can hit the APIM such as Forscan. I believe the max time is 60 minutes.
