Katie Belton
I'm going to be installing a new cooling fan assembly this weekend. I watched a few videos and read the repair manual but I have a question I was hoping someone might be able to help with. Some of the videos show the guy raising the front of the car and detaching a lower radiator hose from the bottom of the fan shroud and other videos only show them removing the two 8 mm bolts from either side on the top of the fan assembly. The Ford Edge repair manual says to remove the splash guard but doesn't say anything about the lower radiator hose. I plan on doing it the simple way and NOT draining the radiator or detaching any hoses. Does anyone have any experience with this? Are certain models different? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Katie Belton
Thanks for your quick reply. I watched this video and this is one of the videos that doesn't show or mention anything about a lower rad hose attachment. I'm thinking I'm just going to have to jack up the front end and take a look.
