Has anyone purchased an Edge over the past few weeks? If the dealers are not willing to budge on price, then you could save money by being willing to drive. If you find what you want, just shop dealers. Most dealers have an online or internet sales department or specialist. Even if you factor the cost of the trip, it could save you money. Are Edge supplies tight in your area? Our area sells a ton of Edges, but they do not appear to be supply constrained as the dealers appear to always be well stocked. roshambo Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 I see new rebates are $2,500 but they apply to "Take new delivery from dealer stock". My Edge is a special order due into the dealer around October 16. My deal with the dealer is that I get the benefit of any rebates in effect at the time of delivery. Is it likely that the dealer will claim that the rebate does not apply since the car was a special order and not taken from dealer stock? akirby Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 That's not a deal - that's BAU. You always get the incentives at the time of delivery unless your dealer applied for the incentive protection program that gives you the option of what was there when you ordered or what is there when you take delivery. You don't have to worry about the dealer stock thing. As soon as your Edge rolls off the truck onto the dealer lot it is part of "dealer stock". It's just a way of saying that they're only guaranteeing the incentives at the time of actual delivery (unless you are in the other program). "You always get the incentives at the time of delivery " When I was negotiating this deal, the dealer sales guy tried to exclude the incentives (and I said no way). But I think this guy was really new on the floor. When I said I had a price from a dealer participating in the Costco program, he tried to tell me his dealership participated in the Costco program, but upon questioning, he really knew nothing about it (wasn't really even aware of it).
