But they can deny a warranty claim if the damage resulted from your modification. I know. Technically you are right, I'm just not willing to take the chance, and the Sport is plenty powerful enough for me. Even something as simple as an ECU change could invalidate several parts of the engine. Engines are carefully tuned to a set of tolerances, and if you push those limits, things can break and fail. WWWPerfA_ZN0W Posted August 23, 2016 Report Share Posted August 23, 2016 The XSport has an Ecoboost engine, so the tune update would be anything but minor: more power and better trans shift management, and very likely better fuel economy without losing reliability. But yeah, everyone has their own theshhold of "pain" LOL, and quite understably so. And the maintenance cycles do shorten in order to keep the finely tuned machine running like one.
