With no evidence either way regarding an existing separator, and no inspection reports showing intake valve fouling, its not really possible to make a call on the need for a catch can on these engines. enigma-2 Posted May 19, 2018 Report Share Posted May 19, 2018 I posted this in another message, but will mentioned it again here. I was at my local dealer a week or two ago and overheard the service rep telling another customer about carbon buildup on the valves. He told him that to clean the buildup off, they have a Ford procedure to steam clean the valves.
