macbwt
Replaced the thermostat since my OBDII and Forscan Lite App were showing operating temps of 207 Degrees F. I installed a Carquest 180 Degree thermostat and then tested it out and the engine was back in the range of 195-198 Degrees in operating temperature. Normal for the Edge 3.5 I then had the coolant vacuumed out and refilled with new global coolant. Everything is now running well and no abnormal temperatures are noted.
enigma-2
You instalked a 180° thermostat and the car is maintaining 192°? Shouldn't it be maintaining 180°?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
The TStat rating is for when the TStat starts opening. The rest is up to the PCM programming to determine. Typically fans will come on at 210F or so in stock programming. A 15-20F rise from the opening temp is normal. That means the passive cooling is working well.

The temp is when the thermostat open. Not the actual temp the engine will run at. I drive interstate a lot so my fans rarely run due to the flow of air.
