PaulSchott
I just replaced the mirror motor on the drivers side of my 2007 sel. The job is easy but if your not cheap like me you should spend the extra $15 bucks and get an original part Ford motor. I bought the $43 Dorman copy and I'm disappointed. The motors are noisy and the adjustment is not as precision as the original. It does work so I'm leaving it alone. The old one moved left and right but not up and down. Oh well, It's not used that often.
PaulSchott
well the original post about the Dorman mirror motor was made July 6th 2016. It stopped working today. I kept the original motor and repaired the connection on the up/down motor by cleaning it with spray contact cleaner. It is now functioning and is 100% better than the junk Dorman replacement. I will never cheap out on a part to save $10 bucks again. I did pop the housing apart to get at the motors which wasn't necessary, I could have just sprayed in the connector slots. It is a very simple mechanism. Two small motors each with a motor driven worn gear to turn a round gear that screws the top and side of the mirror in and out.
