Ericterror
I'm a tall guy and my wife and I got a 2013 Edge SEL. My knee keep hitting the center console that runs up to the dash. If I could get the seat to go back like 4 or 5 more inches, I'd be in heaven! Any Ideas folks?
enigma-2
See if this company can do something for you. (Don't list edge, but possibly they have nevery been asked). http://www.extendmyseat.com/ Edited July 5, 2016 by enigma-
jstack
I also have a 2013 Edge and discovered shortly after buying that more room would be very nice. I messaged the extendmyseat.com folks to see if the listed brackets for the escape may work. We'll see.
omar302
I have noticed that lowering the seat gives more front leg room. It seems the seat moves up/down at an incline.
jstack
No luck with extendmyseat.com. I took some pictures and sent them in to compare with brackets they carry for the Escape, but they were quite different. I also asked if they ever add to their product line and the response was that they haven't seen enough demand to justify it. I've found a bit of an increase in leg room by tilting the seat back, not the seat back just the seat itself. If there was a way to move the gas pedal towards the firewall that would also help......my left leg is fine for room.
Ericterror
Thanks so much for the quick responses! I wonder if I can just unbolt and drill new holes and move it back myself. I'll have to look and see what lays under the floor boards lol
enigma-2
Why not talk with your service manager, see if they have ever looked into this? There are several other factors that need to take into consideration, seat belt lenghts & angles, side air bags, front air bags, electrical harness length. An inch it possibly two, shouldn't be a problem, four inches would definitely affect the above subsidiary functions.
