jockwalker
The automatic door lock on my 2011 edge does not respond to button on the door or key pad. All the other locks on the car go up and down fine when engaged. Right now I am using the key to lock and unlock. Bad door lock actuator? If so, how hard is it to change once I have the door panel off? Thanks!
jockwalker
Ok. I removed the door panel. I then disconnected all of the connections and removed the panel. There is another panel under that one. I put a meter on the connections and there was power. I decided not to venture any further and reconnected everything. I left the house and while driving I tried the door lock switch and the drivers lock was working. I tried it a number of times and it worked perfectly. I then assumed the wiring was a little corroded and was now making good contact. well, after a few miles I tried the lock again and it no longer worked. I am Stumped!! Waldo
Could it be just the lock rod itself that is stuck or binding on something?
DRbillZ
If the wiring has corrosion and bad connection, what's going on would be evidence of such... Right? Go back in and see what's going on.
jockwalker
Lock rod moves freely. Sprayed connections with electronic cleaner. Local Ford service believes it is the actuator...of course...$485 for part and labor...ugh.
