Sending destination to Sync 3

Recommended Posts

OK can you Clarify above about contacts and nav?

MFT/ MLT had a feature to send your downloaded phone contacts ( that had addresses) to you nav to set a destination.

Problem is it NEVER WORKED & eventually was removed after years of complaints on why it was never fixed. iphone was especially effected.

Ford had a subscribe to sync services option BUT was $199 Year -insane- that had the "send destination" feature from a web page or from an app. Again - problem that it did not work MOST of the time. This was handy to preload a destination without telling everyone in car to be quite for a few minutes while you talked to car to set the destination.

Sync 3- Does it have the send you phone contact address to nav --does it work with iphones?

Sync 3 phone contacts with address can indeed be set as destination. Works quite well. Using the cars screen of course just go to contacts, click on the address, and it will ask if you want it set for destination. Something MFT should of had. It also takes full street addresses through voice commands quite well like aKirby said

With MFT the Ford Destinations app worked quite well for me in sending destination to the car. Another app called " Send to car" worked well up until about a year ago and they had to pull it

Using Mapquest on your computer you may still be able to send a destination to your car. Once in the car you need to access services and the address should be recalled

nice that the contact address works on S3....shame Ford never spent the money to fix that feature on MFT that the 3rd party programmer co messed up & had to wait 6 years for a new version release to incorporate that feature.

Other MFT take away was the direct GPS coordinate input feature- you know when in a say a state park or camp ground or following a geo tag for a specific sightseeing spot or in a rural area where there is NO street address or intersection just a gps coordinate provided on a website stuff like that... I know not your normal set destination but was nice to have before removed...

Was that incorporated somewhere - even if buried in a sub menu?

Thanks AKirby for the reply.

"Latitude and Longitude (##.###### - ##.######) One to six decimal places are accepted." Nice to see that it was included- even if not used often.

I have felt the growing pains from sync & MLT- like many others-so I look forward to reading more Positives & successes in the latest S3 version- hopefully.
