Jpol908
Hi all, My new Edge has a scratch on the silver portion of the front grille. Does anyone know what the color code is? I've been to 2 dealers, Sherwin Williams, and called Ford, and nobody can give me an answer.

If open your driver door, the sticker says EXT PT: (2 digit code here is your paint code)
Jpol908
If open your driver door, the sticker says EXT PT: (2 digit code here is your paint code) I have the main body color. What I'm looking for is the matte silver color that the grille is painted with.
Nick Halstead
Oh...your not gonna find a paint code for that
knickerbocker
The grill is not painted, it's molded plastic. I had mine replaced after it was cracked from hitting road debris. Part # for Non-Sport Grill Without Front Camera/Washer= FT4Z-8200-AA This component is ~$800, so it's definitely not cheap!
enigma-2
Noticed while I was at Lowes this last weekend, the had a spray chrome paint. Forget the brand, but back with the spray paints. Had several different varieties in fact. If you were able to mask off exposing just the scratch, could possibly spray and cover good enough to pass. As an alternative, you could spray some paint on a tiny paint brush and paint over the scratch. (Very carefully). Thinking of those paint brushes sold to paint model airplanes. Old Ray
In another life a long time ago (Ford Parts-man) Ford, for reason that only they knew, called some silvers "Argent". if that's any help. Yes, it is plastic and would be replaced as a unit, surprised that the dealer would not have told you that (OK, I'm really not). Try some close plastic (model ?) paint? Jpol908
There's definitely paint on the grille. The chrome part is fine, but the silver has a scratch, which shows the white plastic substrate. So, it's not molded silver. Just not wanting to buy a $500+ part for a 1" scratch.
