Cbdude
I had the check engine light go on and the fault code was P0299 turbo under boost code. I took it into the dealer and they said I needed a new turbine replacement. My fault for recently bragging on how I had no maintenance so far on my Edge. I'm disappointed that such a high dollar item just broke. I do a lot of NY thruway miles so while high mileage; it's easy mileage.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Not necessarily a blown turbo, can also be hoses (particularly in and around the MAP sensor) coming loose causing false readings. You could have them check thoroughly, make sure if they are loose, that they get clamped, otherwise they will come loose again. In any case, I hope this is not OOP for you ... Most of the time if an impeller goes you will notice those symptoms.....as well as some strange noises, unusually loud whine, or ticking. Augustsbitterend
I just had the same issue. I am going through and testing all the hoses, solenoids, wastegate function, BOV etc before looking into the turbo itself. I just wish there were more aftermarket parts for the 2012 2.0L. If anyone knows where/who makes anything, I'd love to know!
JTW
This code is often set because the waste gate is worn out and not closing tight enough to build boost pressure in the system. The Turbo will have to be replaced to fix the problem. Get the job done by a local shop and buy a aftermarket replacement Turbo.
