M3Todd1
Hello All, I recently purchased a 2011 Edge Limited AWD. I've only had it about a month and I have noticed that every once in a while I hear a clicking noise coming from the passenger side rear wheel area. It is definitely a noise in rhythm with the revolutions of the tire. Sounds like a large rock stuck in the tire tread. However, the noise goes away when I apply the brakes. I have read about some wheel bearing issues these may have. Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance! -Mike
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Aloha, Mike! Could certainly be a wheel bearing ... Any service recently to the Edge? Since the noise stops with brake application, I'd suspect brake issues first. Maybe the pad is loose in the caliper (for various reasons) and the wear indicator is hitting the rotor when the brake is not applied, for instance. Not sure if the rear brakes have noise dampeners on them, but it's a remote possibility that one is mis-installed or missing entirely. When I got my used Edge 2011 a couple of days ago, they put summer tires on and on my way back, I could hear an increasing strange noise coming from the front left wheel. Turns out that when they changed the tires, they forgot to tighten the nuts for that wheel!
