Chipster
If you have used these ventshades which did you select and why? One is "in channel" while the other is "low profile". http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Ventshade-894035-Seamless-Ventvisor/dp/B011E9TN9Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1457562890&vehicle=2016-54-5858------------2-0&sr=1-4&ymm=2016%3Aford%3Aedge&keywords=ventshades http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Ventshade-194930--Channel-Ventvisor/dp/B011E9TOS4/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1457562890&vehicle=2016-54-5858------------2-0&sr=1-1&ymm=2016%3Aford%3Aedge&keywords=ventshades Edited March 9, 2016 by Chipster
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
The only caveat I'd say with in-channel is keep the windows and the channel clean, otherwise dirt WILL build up over time, making for noisy operation and scratches on the glass. enigma-2
Not to make little of these, but what good are they? Are they just for looks, or do they serve a purpose? Edited March 10, 2016 by enigma-
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
They do keep noise down if you like to roll with the windows open (or cracked open), help keep rain out as well to some extent.
Chipster
I have used them for many years for the sole purpose of leaving the windows down an inch or so while the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight for extended periods. (while I am out on the river fishing)They allow the interior to breathe without worrying about rain entering the vehicle in case it rains. They (in my experience) will sometimes create some additional wind noise, but not to unacceptable levels.
Spree
I have the "in channel" and still trying to get them to work with the auto up feature. My ds has been working so I'm in no hurry but the other 3 windows hit the shade and come back down. I did a little work on the ds and it's been working good. I just need to do the other 3. This summer all 4 will be working! I went with the "in channel" for a cleaner look but, they need a little modification in order to work! They are in the channel with the window anyway. That window hits anything and it's coming down. Looks real good and I always keep my window open a crack. Come's in handy when it's raining.
Chipster
I ordered and installed the low profile ventshades.( http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Ventshade-894035-Seamless-Ventvisor/dp/B011E9TN9Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1457562890&vehicle=2016-54-5858------------2-0&sr=1-4&ymm=2016:ford:edge&keywords=ventshades&tag=viglink20819-20) They do add a bit of wind noise, but they do keep the rain out when the windows are down a couple of inches. This allows the vehicle to shed a fair amount of heat when parked in direct sunlight, and my black interior does get hot!
DAC17
I'm waiting for WeatherTech to make these. I spoke to them last week, and they should have them on the site in early May. I've had their products for many of my cars, and they're always first-rate.
Chipster
Are you going to put some protection on for the front of the hood? I am having a difficult time finding something for that application that looks good and will fit our vehicle.
Nick Halstead
if you live in a tropical location and have condensation build up every night on your roof, these come in handy. besides everything already listed, when you have windows down and water on your roof, these will prevent it from dropping straight into the car when you turn!
