edgemaster
Guys, I have finally decided to replace the spark plugs in my 2007 Edge myself. I seem to remember that I have seen a lengthy post about that but, for the life of me, I can't find it. Can someone please point me to that threat? Thanks, Ed

edgemaster
That was quick. Thanks a lot. Ed
akirby
I just plugged in "spark plugs" into the search box upper right and it was on the first page of results.
edgemaster
I entered spark plug replacement and that particular thread did not pop up, thanks for helping me out with that. Ed
akirby
Too specific. Sometimes you have to use less words and just look through the results.
edgemaster
Noted! I just tried to order spark plugs at the www.rockauto.com website but there are so many different ones, it's confusing. Do you have a suggestion? Also, which gaskets should I order? Thanks again, Ed
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Motorcraft for the win! SP411's for 2007-10. Gap should be tested with a feeler gauge, should be 0.054-0.057. Be careful NOT to touch the center electrode if adjusting the ground strap. Do not adjust the ground strap back & forth, that will weaken it. edgemaster
OK, what about the gaskets?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Only gaskets you need will be the manifold gaskets, FelPro or Motorcraft should work fine. They say you can reuse, but the gaskets are so cheap ...
edgemaster
Lower set, upper set or both? Sorry for being a nuisance. Ed
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Upper set only. The manifold you take off for spark plug/PCV valve replacement is the upper manifold. I got Victor Reinz MS19557 off EBay, IIRC. Victor Reinz is one of the top gasket makers IMHO, they make some really good stuff. http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2652682&jsn=__GIX__3__ Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): 7T4Z9H486DA RockAuto has a nice price on it at $4.61 FelPro part # MS 97120 if you want that. edgemaster
Great, thanks again. Just ordered the stuff, should be here before the end of the week. Looks like it's gonna be a fun weekend. Just replaced four rotors and brake pads two weekends ago. Cheers, Ed
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Good luck, the Edge should be running like a top after the plug/PCV change!
macbwt
If you need a supervisor for the plug work WWW will fly down and provide said job assistance. LOL. Make sure the engine is cold when you start working out the plugs and reinstalling. Great, thanks again. Just ordered the stuff, should be here before the end of the week. macbwt
Please describe "Feedback"?
dre2142
It's a slight vibration in the steering wheel upon acceleration within that rpm band. 1800 to 2000 rpm.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Try running some fuel injector cleaner through the tank (Techron or BG 44K my favs), see if that helps. Keep an eye on the engine oil before & after (500-1000 miles). If the oil looks dirtier, I'd change it out (ignore change intervals).
