CharPatton
The engine is bigger, so I'm confused why no towing package is offered. The dealer said that he could put on an OEM hitch. But is there a good engineering reason why no towing package is offered? I'm worried that adding an OEM hitch in that scenario might damage the car. Thank you! akirby
Aesthetics - the factory hitch won't fit the Sport bumper. Has nothing to do with the engine.
omar302
If it were due to the looks, they could have easily come up with a removable cover, similar to the Factory hitch on 2011+ Explorers. Fact is, there is no official reason why the Towing Package isn't available on the 2015+ Edge Sport. It could be Aesthetics or due to the "Sport tuned" suspension, or simply a marketing strategy. BringthePayne
I haven't verified on the new Edge but on my '13 Sport it was because you had to cut a chunk out of the rear bumper. If you're willing to do that there is no reason you can't install a hitch.
TourGuide
I'm just going to install a hidden hitch. The receiver on this is the only thing that appears below the bumper valence.
