lakeguy77
I'm having a problem with my sync system and its driving me nuts. Everything was working great up till this past weekend. I came out of the grocery store, and when sync tried to autoconnect to my phone, it just sat there trying to connect but nothing would happen. So I deleted my phone and tried to re-pair it from scratch, but my phone couldn't see sync and sync couldn't see my phone. When I tried to go in later to pair my phone, the screen that comes up with the pairing code would only be visible for less than a second before a "No devices found" box would appear, so I don't even have time to push the button to pair manually. A master reset at least got that screen to show up again, but it still can't see my phone. I've tried downloading the latest sync updates, because mine is badly out of date, but when I unzip the EA5T-14D544-AD file, I get a checksum error near the end of the decompression. Anybody have any advice for me?
akirby
It's probably your phone. Try powering it off and back on.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Is your phone experiencing any issues with bluetooth or wifi or cell connectivity other than with Sync? If it is, might be worth going into System Update area and updating the Profile and PRL, then restarting the phone (a couple of times might be necessary). Hopefully the phone is far far away from having to be wiped and reset to correct issues.
lakeguy77
My phone isn't having problems with my bluetooth speakers, my home theatre, or anything else, and I've tried powering it off and on again. I suspect a hardware problem with the car itself, because the screen that shows the 6 digit pair code is only up for a second before popping up the connection failed box. To be safe, I've got another phone I can try and I'll let you know. I'll also snap some video of what its doing when I try to pair.
enigma-2
One suggestion I could offer is to make certain that there is no other wifi devices nearby. Your car may have paired with a wireless printer, speakers or router and is attempting to connect with that device. Delete everything the car is paired with (including your spouse-s phone), make certain there are no other wifi devices in the area and try again. I would also look to see if your phone recently updated. New system updates can either help or hurt bluetooth phones. Try pulling the battery on your cell for a minute and try again. Try pulling the fuses on your radio and try again. akirby
Pull the sync fuse or disconnect the battery in the car or try a master reset.
lakeguy77
So when I got home, I performed a master reset, then attempted to connect my tablet, which linked up no problem. Tried my phone again and this time it took quickly and easily, and has reconnected on its own throughout the night when I've tested. The night before the issue first happened, I did install a Google push update on my phone (old-skool Nexus 5). But if anybody has a similar issue, delete the phone, connect a different device, then re-pair the phone. Should solve it. Anybody have any advice for me? This file is not supposed to be unzipped. It should be kept as is in its folder in the root of your flash drive. Do your have the MyFord Touch or basic Sync? If it is MyFord Touch, it is covered by an extended warranty for 5 years from first date of purchase regardless of mileage.
