nblynch
We had a recent "mishap" when a large bag of minnows broke in the back seat of my Edge, directly behind the passenger seat (long story, short version....my son & husband borrowed my car to go ice fishing...ugh!) They were convinced all minnows had been removed, but the smell persisted for a few days. We took the car in to have it detailed (last minnow that snuck into crevice was removed, carpet & mats cleaned, cherry bombed the heat/air ducts). Car smelled ok for about a week, but now the fish smell is back. I'm thinking some of the minnows may have gone down into the rear heat duct that is under the passenger seat. The dealership informed me that they will have to remove the seat, carpet, electronics, etc before they can even get to the duct work. 6-8 hours, $700+. Has anyone had something removed from this duct before?? Is it something you can do yourself? Is there a car vac that has an attachment that could access this area? It's a terrible design if you ask me (wide open "tube", and quite close to where the passenger feet go).... Any input/suggestions etc would be helpful!! enigma-2
This whole thing sounds a little fishy to me. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) You try shoving a crevis tool up there? Edited February 17, 2016 by enigma-
