Dz0n3
Hey All, Has anyone purchased the LED puddle and license plate bulbs from drivebright.com? I had purchased the set not too long ago and the first set of license plate bulbs began to flicker. I contacted the company and they shipped me out new ones and those worked well for about 2 weeks or so and also began to flicker. Anyone run into any issues like this? It quite annoying to say the least haha. The puddle lights work fine with no issues. Thanks!
Jackman5000
Mine flickered but just turned them/wiggled the connection a bit. Fixed it.
Dz0n3
Yeah I tried that a few times but it still continues. When the car is off they don't flicker bit then when I begin to drive they start to flicker.
WingNut
Not sure how reliable those LED lights are. I have bought two sets from different buyers on Amazon for my Mustang. After a few months they always seem to start blinking. Sometimes it fixes itself. Other times the flickering continues.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
May need to solder a resistor across one of the bulbs, or exchange for a set with builtin resistors. Might have success with EBay products made for Canbus?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
try the seller lowcostoutlet on EBay. Their product apparently resolved the flickering/blown fuse issue for a Taurus SHO owner, so might have an Edge package also.
Dz0n3
So i was finally able to get it fixed after the ones i kept receiving from drivebright ended up blowing out my middle light bar. After the dealership replaced my bar and installed new OEM bulbs, i ordered these error free LED license plate bulbs from Amazon and they did the trick. Have not had any issues with them so i'd be careful with buying them from drivebright.com. The puddle lights are good though.
onyxbfly
Not wanting to necrobump a thread, but not wanting to start a new thread. My license plate bulbs went out and I just brought these as a replacement. https://www.amazon.com/SiriusLED-T10-168-194-W5W/dp/B00NCGFNB0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485634666&sr=8-3&keywords=error+free+led+license+plate+bulbs
macbwt
I ordered these and so far not one issue. I had some others like you linked and they died also. I am guessing they have improved the LED's since. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GXO3IUG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
onyxbfly
Those look just like ones that I replaced. One would intermittently work and the other would flicker..... then I only had one flickering one till I had none. Given the price if these fail. Ill look elsewhere!
sman83
I've been having the same problem. Lights worked great for months then one day started to flicker. Drivebright sent a free replacement. They worked for a day or two then started to blink. If I pop the bulb out and put it back in it seems to temporarily fix the problem. I did notice the LED light gets very hot even after 15 min remote start. I was going to put a multimeter to the socket but glad know it's the blubs and not my car. CarlosAA45
Anyone tried for superbrightled.com or VLED for the license plate? Any problems?
ve3nsv
I use the JDM Astar T10 LED licence plate lights with no issues including the cold here in Canada.
Agima
I don't remember the brand of mine (they were already installed in the used 2011 Edge that I bought) but I've noticed since a couple of weeks one of the license plate leb bulb was flickering/failing. First thing I've done is to exchange the left/right bulbs to check if it's not the socket. It wasn't the case. What I've actually found is I'm putting pressure on the LEDs themselves, they are lighting up again. It seems that over time, they are desoldering.
