orangeedge
Tire was losing air slowly. Took it to the dealership and found out the inside of the bead is cracked. As you can guess, I am not to happy. They said pot hole damage. You think that kind of damage would have popped the tire. Any advice on finding a rim? dugster
Just found my right front has suffered the same fate. Very slow leak. I found some options for oem reconditioned but was curious on what direction you went. Thanks
enigma-2
Not safe to repair rim if the bead is cracked. Can only replace with new. Try Ebay. http://m.ebay.com/itm/22-FORD-EDGE-SPORT-PVD-CHROME-WHEELS-RIMS-2011-2014-FACTORY-OEM-3850-EXCHANGE-/201244327223?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.com/itm/2011-2012-2013-2014-Ford-Edge-OEM-Factory-BT4Z1007E-22-Polished-Wheel-Rim-3850-/262368923118?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.com/itm/FORD-EDGE-22-FACTORY-OEM-POLISHED-AND-BLACK-WHEEL-RIM-2011-2014-3850-/141812073154?nav=SEARCH
PaulSchott
BMW had the same problems with their big rims. My nephew had to replace 3 out of 4 rim rims on a 325. They gave him the same BS about it being pot hole damage. It must have been one big mutha of a pot hole lol. I guess they don't think its a safety problem. orangeedge
We still haven't replaced the rims yet. I really need to but can't figure out what 20" rims to go with.

DRbillZ
If you don't have enough tire to cushion the blow... But then again us old guys didn't know a thing...
JETZ
I guess your nephew found ' the only pot hole in town'. Come on, pot holes everywhere, especially in 'rust belt' areas, and because of crazy fluctuations in winter temp is causing the pot hole issue. We have plenty in Toronto! That, plus the lower aspect ratio tires '40' for the Sport, and probably 35, or 30 for the Bimmer are magnets for finding pot holes. Bigger wheels have to go with lower 'AR' tires so they will even fit on the vehicle. Can you imagine a '265/75/22', lots of cushion there, but very tall (don't think they even make this size in a 22. Lower 'AR' tire are for better handling especially in sporty cars. The shorter the side wall, the faster the tire reaction time. I run 30/25's on my Vette, and drive with ' eyes wide open' wary of pot holes. Big wheels with short tires look better, but there are the trade off's... BMW had the same problems with their big rims. My nephew had to replace 3 out of 4 rim rims on a 325. They gave him the same BS about it being pot hole damage. It must have been one big mutha of a pot hole lol. sulp
Exactly why i'm paying for tire/wheel coverage on my 16 Sport. Wheels and tires are crazy expensive and I was a little shell shocked after replacing 3 tires on my 13 Escape within a 6 month period WITHOUT wheel/tire coverage. $180 a piece. The extra $7/mo is totally worth it imo.
Timmah
I had the same problem with my 2005 Pontiac GTO, They told me it was not covered by warranty, because they could not explain how it cracked. Then they told me it was because the tire shop broke the rim by clamping it too tight when they changed the tire.
junehhan
$180 each? You havn't seen these beautiful 21's on the 2015/2016 Ecoboost Sports. The tires alone can run $300-400 each as only Pirelli makes all seasons in that size. Apparantly it is a rare tire size that is only shared with some Porsches and Bentleys.
