New to us 2012 Edge!

Hey all. Been a long time Ford owner. I converted my mother in law and wife to Ford as well. My mother in law had a Toyota Echo for a long time.... I got her into a Ford dealer 4 years ago but she ended up leaving with a Chevy HHR. (Ugly!) Thankfully, she ended up hating it. I got her into a brand new leftover '14 Focus Hatch that she loves about 6 months ago. My wife and I just traded our faithful 2006 Ford Escape for a 2012 Edge Limited.

I was a little disappointed in the dealership though..... They sold it to us with a shift to park message, PTU leak, half the touch screen is inop, passenger side blend door was stuck on cold, and they never serviced it. Dirty oil with a off brand oil filter, mouse house in the air box AND in the cabin air box. But yet it was sold as "certified".

We have an appointment to pick up a loaner and leave "Edgy" behind as they try to fix the issues. Whatever they don't fix, I will do myself as I am more than capable being a 15 year ex Ford Tech.

I just ordered some 22" Cavallo CLV-5 Chrome rims for the new girl too. Can't wait to get them.

Hope to gain some helpful info here and maybe share my help and exp with you all. Nice to "meet" you in advance!

Leon.

Welcome to the forum, Leon, congrats to you both on the new acquisition, and regrets on the poor experience with the selling dealer. If it weren't for the warranty possibilities and the implied quality, CPO really wouldn't mean much, sadly. Hope they fixed/are fixing those issues for you though! The brake booster and door latch are 2 more items to keep on your radar. 2.0 Ecoboost or 3.5L engine?

New wheels will look snazzy for sure!

Thanks for the info. I got a copy of the oasis report on it and it seems the brake booster was already replaced. It is a 3.5L. The vehicle was dropped off Monday morning and we haven't heard back yet. I gave them the laundry list so hopefully it will all get taken care of.

I also have a can of the "secret" lube that Ford uses for the door latch. I plan to keep on that.
