2015 Edge Titanium Heated Mirrors

Recommended Posts

When I use remote start rear window defrost comes on , but mirrors do not defrost. I had the vehicle to the dealer. I was told everything is okay but is not cold enough. I got no answer when I asked why rear defrost, seats and steering wheel work. This is my 3rd Edge, first one with this problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

I noticed that my mirrors do not defrost when using remote start either. I'm sure it's just not enabled in the factory programming so I'm not too worried about it. When I get in the car I'll just turn on the rear defrost to clear them up, they clear pretty quickly so I'll deal with it.

According to the remote start settings in the dash they should be on. The salesman and a service attendant confirmed this.

A friend of mine has a 2015 Fusion and noticed his remote start doesn't turn on the heated mirrors but does turn on the rear defrost. Tested it with my 2015 Sport and mine also doesn't turn on the mirrors. You'd think they would be on with remote start if the rear defrost was on.

I sent my question to Ford. Their reply was " The heated rear windshield controls the heated mirrors. If the rear glass comes on the heated mirrors will come on. Contact your dealer"

I forwarded the reply to my dealer, telling him to show to technicians and service department.
