Harvey Hanson
So my dealer forgot to order my 21" alloys, meaning they are going to have to ship me a new set of 21" alloys which do not come with tires, so I am wondering: A) What are the factory provided tires on 21" alloys (brand and model) What are the best all-weather 21" alloy tires (I live in MN so combination of snow and sun) Thanks
cab2g
do you get to keep your 20" wheels due to the dealer's mistake? If so, I'd get summer tires put on those 21" wheels. Keep the 20"s for winter and let the salt eat the wheels you don't care about. Edited January 20, 2016 by cab2g
redlancer
I believe the stock all seasons on the 21's are these (tirerack link): Pirelli Scorpion Verde Though if you're getting to keep the 20's I'd get some good dedicated snows/summers for each set. All seasons do okay in the winter, but nothing like some real snow tires for the ice and snow.
davidceder
Why isn't the dealer providing tires as well? Why aren't they making you whole if it was their fault? I guess you signed off on the car?
Harvey Hanson
They are giving me the 20" alloys with tires for free, and giving me a cheque for the tires on the 21's - so its not the worst thing in the world. I just need to work out what tires to put on hence the post... Edited January 21, 2016 by Harvey Hanson
akirby
I would use rubber tires, not alloy tires, but that's just me......
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Bridgestone Duelers, Continental CrossContact, Yokohama Parada SpecX are just some of the well-received tires you can have put on. Tirerack provides a nice comparo here for the all-seasons (shown here for the 2007 AWD): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS You can also look for non-CUV-specific tires (such as the Continental DWS/06) with the same load ratings, but not sure how well they'd perform on the Edge. Look for incentives also on tires. Discount Tire Direct usually provides good incentives along with financing.

Harvey Hanson
So update, the dealer offer me $2700 if I kept the 20" alloys rather and him buying new alloys and tires. BUT, I hate the standard alloys, and want some black ones. The plan is to buy some aftermarket 20" alloys and just take the tires off the new rims then keep the OEM rims in the garage for when I return the car. My question is, has anyone had any experiences with aftermarket alloys that they want to share, I saw some 20s for $175 a wheel, thoughts...? http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Custom_Wheels.cfm?pn=Mach%2DRims%2DME8%2D20%2D85SBH%2Es&pID=90358 Edited February 11, 2016 by Harvey Hanson

I've got the gunmetal ones as my winter wheels. IMHO they look good on the Edge and I believe they're available in black. But in the end you're not really out $2700 for them if the dealer gave you that amount for basically nothing. Sell your factory 20's and still come out ahead with the wheels you really wanted. You'll still pocket between $500-$1000 once you sell the 20's. Edited February 13, 2016 by 27Sport
