SweetCandyEdge
I have a fully loaded (minus rear DVD... does anyone really buy this?) white platinum 2016 Edge Sport. I took delivery January 14th in Ottawa. The Edge is very nice. Overall quality seems generally good. Body panels and interior panels are well aligned. Here's what I have noticed so far: 1. The driver's door handle doesn't align with the door handle cap. This is due to the black plastic bracket which holds the cap being installed incorrectly which will require a trip to the dealership and some warranty work next week. 2. There was a rattle coming from the rear seat belt due to the cargo cover plastic clips that fasten to the headrest posts. This was easily corrected by pushing the headrest down tighter. 3. There is some paint scratched off of the passenger side upper door hinge. Clearly this is not visible with the door closed. Thankfully I picked up some touchup paint when I took delivery so I will touch it up myself. 4. The front dash has some minor damaged jagged plastic pieces beside the glove box where the dash meets the door. It looks like something sharp was dragged along the edge of the console and it dug into a few places. 5. There's a 'Made in Oakville' sticker applied to the right inside lower portion of the windshield. I'm Canadian so yes I'm proud that the Edge is built here but I hate stickers applied to my car. I even refused to let the dealer add their dealership sticker. Needless to say this sticker will be coming off however it is going to be very difficult to remove due to its location on the windshield. 6. While inspecting the sticker above, I noticed a small piece of foam sealant exposed from the outside of the right side of the windshield. It measures about 1/4" by 1/8" so it is very minor but noticeable if you're looking at how to remove the sticker mentioned above ☺. Most of these issues are minor, except for #1 which requires a trip to the dealership and #5 which bothers me. Again, I find the overall quality to be very good. The issues I've listed above are mostly minor due to my OCD. Sync 3 seems to work great. I am very pleased with the touch screen and the voice command response times. The screen is capacitive so big winter mitts don't work, but winter drivers gloves with capacitive finger tips work great ? and the voice command support is impressive. I was surprised to find that there is no SD card for the navigation system so I'm not sure how map updates will be managed but I'm hoping we can get map updates via wifi. The texture of the touch screen combined with the mounting angle makes it awkward to drag upwards but pinching to zoom and dragging downwards work fine. I'm anxiously waiting for the Android Auto update. The dealer let me try Sync 3 in the Escape before I ordered my Edge and it was very awkward to use due to how far the screen was recessed in the dash. The screen is mounted much more accessibly in the Edge. Sirius XM services do not seem to provide traffic for Ottawa and the closest city for weather is in the US. I was surprised by this because the Sirius XM web site lists Ottawa and other Canadian cities for both Traffic and Weather. Perhaps there may be a subscription issue? The first 1/4 of fuel in the gas tank disappeared after only 60 kms. This is somewhat concerning however I know fuel economy on a new engine is not indicative of future fuel economy. Hopefully the next 1/4 tank will get me 120 km. Here are some more comments which I previously posted in the "Any 2016 Edge sightings yet?" thread: The adaptive steering will take some time to get used to. Driving home from the dealership the steering seemed to correct itself on the highway off ramp while turning. This caught me off gourd however I suppose it's possible the steering is calibrating itself. I'm also not accustomed to the moving directional lines in the backup camera since my 2011 Edge does not have them. The camera angle is also considerably different but I believe it is better than in the previous Edge. The ride is more rough then I recall from my test drive but my test drive Edge Sport only had the 20" wheels and my ordered Edge Sport has the 21".
Chipster
Nice report thanks! You might want to check your air pressure in the tires, sometimes they are over inflated.

Although the service is available in Canada, it's not part of the 6 month subscription, at least not for me with my 2015.
knickerbocker
Etis shows 95 Octane added to the Edge from the factory. I wonder if that's the reason for poor initial fuel economy and part of engine break in. Edited January 18, 2016 by knickerbocker

akirby
Etis is a european system - maybe that's the euro spec octane.

cab2g
So my dealer still hasn't delivered my '16 yet. But the burning plastic smell that you could smell from the inside and outside of the '15 that I test drove yesterday for the heck of it was very concerning. The heater was blasted to help the car warm up. It had 20 miles on it. I hope that smell wears off quickly. I have never experienced such a strong burning smell in any other new car I have test driven. But this was by far the coldest day I have ever driven a car with under a couple thousand miles on the odometer. Maybe it's normal. Do any of you that have your '16s notice a strong burning plastic smell?

boosted edge
I have not driven our 2016 Edge Sport much yet, but so far the wife and I have both noticed more wind noise in the front side windows at highway speeds, than our 2008 Edge. This is somewhat disappointing since the new Edge has acoustic glass, and is being touted for being so quiet overall? I have looked at the door seals and the window seals and can't seem to find anything that looks amiss. Anybody else notice this in their new Edge? knickerbocker
Well, we picked up our new 2016 Edge Titanium last night. The paperwork process was so long, the Edge was sitting just outside the window, I wanted to just hop in and drive home. Tested out all the features, everything works so far (fingers crossed). The wife is quite nervous about driving a larger vehicle (came from a Civic) and how difficult it will be to park in a garage downtown. The Edge is a bit bigger, but it has parking sensors which can help in tight places. After nearly 24 hours of ownership and ~50km of driving so far, here is my initial quality review with some pros and cons: Pros: -Quiet, smooth ride. Nice acceleration from the 2.0L Ecoboost FWD. (Have not tried Sport mode yet) -Tech features are great. Very responsive touch screen on Sync 3 -Sync 3: Fast, intuitive, easy to read at a glance. Applink works great with Spotify. -Sony 12-spkr Sound System is fantastic. Not loud and thumping, but great fidelity and nice range. -Hands-Free Lift Gate works well, really like this feature. -Remote Start: Awesome. Heated Seats & Steering Wheel: Fantastic! Cons: -Rear Passenger Door is misaligned by maybe ~8mm. Enough to notice up close. Doesn't seem to impact Door function -Sticky residue on the touch screen: The protective sticker left residue which makes flicking to scroll difficult. Need some cleaner and microfiber love. -Loud exhaust on cold morning start. Only lasted a minute or two while it warmed up. Had some burning smell too, but probably from being new. -Voice Commands: Both Sync 3 and Siri Eyes Free have listening issues. I'm still learning how to talk to the car, so maybe this will change. Overall, I'm happy with the Edge and feel the price we paid was fair (X-Plan with seasonal discounts) and the quality is as acceptable, and no surprises. I'll follow up in a few weeks with some longer-term impressions and mileage figures. Thanks to the community for sharing your experience so I could make an informed decision.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Good luck, on all counts! I had an opportunity to drive a vehicle with backup camera (sorry, not 360), took a bit of getting used to, but definitely helpful. Still should not forgo looking at the left & right sideview mirrors, but rather use as complementary assistance.
akirby
I've found that speaking in a normal voice and speaking slightly faster than normal works better (for MFT at least) than trying to speak slower and more loudly.

DanL
I own a 2011 Edge Limited and a 2016 Edge Sport. Both have laminated front glass but I find the 2016 Edge considerably quieter than the 2011. When I test drove the edge I could hear some wind noise. I thought it stood out because the rest of the car is so quiet. When I got back in my current car, there was much more wind and road noise than the edge. The road and other noises made the wind noise less apparent. Overall, I think the edge is a very quiet vehilce.
cab2g
My review will be short. But I do have to say that the fit and finish of the 2016 Edge I received is by far the best of any vehicle I have ever owned. There is a microscopic misalignment of one of the rear doors. It is hung slightly lower. But I would not complain about it. I did not notice any bowing of any panels at the edges due to improper torque or any seams between panels with uneven gaps. I am very impressed. There are a lot of nice little touches that make me realize Ford put a lot of though into the design of this vehicle: The USB ports are lit so it is easy to find the USB slots. There is a light in the center storage bin for phones etc. The cupholders have spring loaded inserts that keep cups of all sizes snug. The remote start heats up the car in just a few minutes and the seats are nice and toasty Sync 3 is very intuitive and we were able to find our way around it within 15 minutes and set up everything the way we wanted. The reclining rear seats are a nice touch. it is very quiet in the interior and I hear very little road noise. The 2.0L Ecoboost has a lot of kick and does not feel like a 4cyl by any means. If you want to feel like you are driving a 4cyl, rent a Kia Sorento. Sync Services has a nice feature that shows the speed limit where you are driving. There is one thing I don't like though. The color of the headlights does not match that of the daytime running lights. (They probably only match if you get the HID lights in the highest trim levels)
nodnarb
Picked up my 2016 Edge about 2 days ago. We absolutely love it so far. We ended up going with the SEL pretty loaded (tech package with sync 3, leather seats, etc.). We were going to get the titanium, but after comparing everything side by side, the only thing we were really missing is some of the trim features (ambient lighting, etc.), the 18" vs. 19" wheels, and the "9 speaker premium audio" vs. 12 speaker sony audio. Other than that, we are loving the feel of the vehicle. Feels truly like a luxury car inside and out. 2.0 Ecoboost is great, we were debating getting the V6 but I don't think it's necessary. Loving the remote start, sync 3, leather seating feels great. Tons of storage compartments all around the car. One thing I did notice that I thought came in the SEL tech package was seat memory, but apparently that may just be a Titanium feature? Either way, we went with an almost fully loaded SEL vs. the similarly equipped Titanium. Aside from the few things mentioned above not sure if we're really missing too much. Got the Magnetic color with ebony leather interior. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff but let me know if you have any other questions! Extremely happy with the price we paid. We were eligible for the x-plan, but ford has a deal right now where if you're trading in a foreign car (Honda Civic in our case), your sponsor can call back in and get you the A/Z plan... saved an extra $2600 that way, figured I'd throw that out there in case any one else can benefit!
cab2g
You are correct, memory seats/mirrors are standard equipment on the Titanium and Sport models. They are not available on the SEL.
